The Book of Genesis

Here’s the boring class description: This will be lessons 49-54 of our verse-by-verse teaching through Genesis, covering chapters 37-43. And now, here’s the more scintillating description: Joseph—dreamer, slave, leader, prophet. Given a dream by God of greatness and influence, Joseph instead found himself in a pit, then sold into slavery, and eventually thrown into prison. Can God save you out of your prison? He did it for Joseph, so He’ll do it for you. Find hope and joy as you see a little bit of yourself in Joseph, and a lotta bit of the goodness of God. And if that’s still not good enough, we have free cookies, coffee, and WiFi.

 Jesus' Healing Grace (Part 1)

[Jesus responded] “And, ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

Luke 13:16

Our DEEPER course for this session is a study from the Gospels concerning the subject of Healing. That Jesus came to “heal” as a part of His redemptive plan is clear from a study of His life on earth. Of the 28 “healing miracles” recoded in the 4 Gospels, “Seven” of them were performed on a Sabbath Day. It appears that Jesus took special interest in healing people on the Sabbath.

But, WHY?

Why were so many healed on a day when “work” was forbidden?

Why was Jesus so strongly criticized for these healings?

What does it mean that, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath?”

How can these examples of “Jesus’ Healing Grace” help us?

We will study each of these healing events, as well as the subject of “What about the Sabbath Day” in our course. These lessons will bring insight, inform you of the Biblical doctrine of “Healing Grace,” elevate your faith, and inspire you to minister healing to others.
